In Eswatini, the World Investor Week is coordinated by Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA), an associate member of IOSCO and is open to the participation of entities invited by Eswatinimembers of IOSCO, such as Stock Exchange and Central Bank of Eswatini.

Every year during the first week of October, the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), along with member jurisdictions, commemorate World Investor Week (WIW), during which investor resilience and sustainable finance highlighted. During WIW, IOSCO and its members in their respective jurisdictions spend up to seven (7) days raising awareness about the significance of investor education and protection.

One of the principal objects of the FSRA is the protection of stakeholders in general and investor interests in particular1. The FSRA’s participation in the IOSCO WIW 2023 and beyond would strengthen its investor education and protection framework and enhance the FSRA’s ability to meet its obligations. Below, we propose a campaign that the FSRA can pursue to participate in IOSCO WIW 2023. We also highlight possible ways to grow the campaign in future editions. We also highlight here that the FSRA ought to formally contact IOSCO to indicate interest of participating in WIW 2023.

The IOSCO WIW will take place between 02 October and 08 October 2023. The FSRA will run its campaign between 6 and 9 November 2023 inclusive. The FSRA will also have a roll-out campaign that will take place during the weeks leading up to WIW. The campaign should be kickstarted by a public announcement from the FSRA’s CEO.

The FSRA, via the Stakeholder division will then amplify the messages of the CEO via traditional and social media during September all the way into WIW. Depending on the budget, there will be multiple newspaper publications, radio appearances and promo videos on social media and tv.

The FSRA encourages other institutions and organizations throughout Eswatini, governmental or not, including universities, colleges, schools, and other interested parties, to participate in the World Investor Week, organizing and promoting initiatives that meet the campaign's objectives and respect the established guidelines.
